Founded in 2015 by Artistic Director Ari Mayzick, ARIM Dance is a Neo-Classical/Modern dance company that's dedicated to bridging the gap between the timeless foundations of ballet with the evolving voice of contemporary movement. With a growing repertoire of over 20 original ballets, we strive to create performances that unite audiences across the globe through a harmonious marriage of music, integrity, and movement.
ARIM Dance's productions -- whether abstract or narrative -- are emotionally resonant and physically visceral, inviting audiences on a journey that is designed to awaken the mind, body, and spirit. Rather than passive viewing, our performances immerse audiences in stories of resilience, love, and transformation. While the company's ballets reflect a wide range of styles and choreographic approaches, they are unified by a signature structure: one-word titles. These titles are deliberately chosen to encapsulate the essence of each work. Through the minimalist framing, Ari Mayzick delves deep into the layers of meaning behind each word, using it as a thematic anchor. This approach keeps the work grounded in its original inspiration, while allowing space for artistic freedom, emotional expression, and layered interpretation thus creating a signature choreographic voice that is at once timeless and innovative.
This same philosophy informs the company's educational mission. In classes and workshops, Ari Mayzick shares his choreographic perspective, encouraging dancers and students to explore the power of movement as a vehicle for connection, emotion, and transformation. ARIM Dance operates as a project-based company of up to 15 professional dancers, depending on production scale and funding availability. With adequate support, the company continues to grow and expand its reach, bringing its healing message through performances and meaningful engagements to communities, audiences, and stages worldwide.
